All seaferes in this decade in the compulsory basic skills have one or more seaman know as the Basic safety training by IMO (International Maritime Organization) information on skill certificate sailors agreed in 1978 amendments to STCW in 1995. which aims to have all the seaman could face the situation undesirable for work on ships and at least can take action for prevention and control of hazards during work on the ship.

Some of the rules contained in about 1995 amendments to STCW Code AV / 2, namely:

* Basic Safety Training
* Familiarization Training
* Crowd Management Training
* Crisis Management and Human Behavior Training

And all certificates issued by each member state has recorded online and is valid for 5 years (except for familiarization training, because it is done on the boat) and can validate after it expires.

Thus, one obvious initial conditions other than the availability of immigration documents should also have this BST certificate to work as crew
